The research team from the University of Adelaide have received at least $1 million from the Federal Government of Australia as a part of their council that focuses on research with regards to the impact of drought in rural Australia. The Policy will be led by Dr Alec from the University of the School of Economics, and Policy will lead the whole project using a modelling process to analyse the drought policies using which the overall resilience for drought-affected areas would be suggested. According to professor Zuo using the project, the national datasets would be utilised to study and determine various social as well as economic aspects that affect the drought.

Moreover, using the projects, the result of drought would be properly studied and estimated accordingly to learn about various adaptable responses to various carbon credit-based signals for market-related signals. In addition, the research team is confident that development and cost-effective methods will be implemented in future would ensure cost-effective methods and policies would be utilised that would ensure sustainable practices are applied to promote the practice of sustainable practice in Australia.
