Researchers from the University of Syndey have developed artificial material that acts as an artificial mimic for the complex structure of the blood vessels. Accordingly, the technology could play an assistive role in future surgery-related options. In addition, the testing related to the manufacturing of blood vessels has led to the development of new materials, which could, in turn, prove to play a transformative role in the development of prostheses which could mimic the functions of internal organs.
Lead researcher Professor Weiss from the University of Syndey had their share of failures prior to the development of successful material that acts as an additional agent for assistance in relation to surgery-related options. Moreover, the study related to manufacturing activities for artificial organs would lead to future developments of new types of organs and tissues as a whole.
