Researchers at Southern Cross University have assisted to uncover a new species of mountain frog: Philoria knowlesi in the rainforests of the NSW-QLD border, and are now trying to protect its habitat. “This species of new frogs are from the upland rainforest communities. Till now, there are only seven species of mountain frog. Six of them are only found in the Gondwana rainforest area.
