Solar Research Funding to Reduce Solar Energy Equipment Costs
Date : 04 January 2023
Location : Australia
The team of researchers led by Australian solar research funding is working on leading technologies to develop low-cost solar panels to ensure positive translation to renewable energy. Specifically, the research projects are expected to receive a combined funding of $41.5 million which would help in reducing the overall cost associated with solar energy facilities.
Accordingly, the target for solar energy research is known as ‘Solar 30 30 30’m which basically aims at the improvement of efficiency by 30 per cent and reduction of cost to 30 cents per watt. Also, the target date to achieve this ambitious target is 2030. Besides the development of supportive technologies, efforts are put in place to ensure that there proper commercialisation of these technologies as a whole.
In conclusion, if solar energy technology is developed in a proper fashion, then it could lead to
Dual benefits of reduction of pollution and adaptation of renewable energy.
