The University of Sydney has recently announced a record investment of $ 478 million for building a high-class and quality patient research and health care facility. The Sydney Biomedical Accelerator (SBA) will use as a 36000 square meter facility in order to provide a quality health care facility using which some of the most complex health challenges can be resolved. Besides, scientists working on the accelerator would be working on bio-medical research facilities such as regenerative medicine and medical device development.

Accordingly, it would also focus on stem cell-based therapies to keep a check on various health outcomes that are prevalent in the state. According to the Vice-Chancellor and President Mark Scott, this investment is a part of a 10-year strategy. Besides, the world-class building and facilities, along with the biomedical accelerator, would bring together different scientific and clinical experts along with, industry experts and relevant government officials to provide the best possible solutions for different medical issues. While among other developments, the Vice Chancellor said the SBA is in partnership with the NSW government along with the Centenary Institute.

Meanwhile, the performance of the accelerator would be measured in reference to the World Leading Facilities such as Sweden Karolinska Institute. More than 1200 World-class researchers would work in SBA to provide quality health care and research facilities. Moreover, there is no shortage of philanthropy to support this research for medical research. For instance, the institute has received a $20 million funding donation from Susan and Isaac Wakil Foundation. All these functions are provided in addition to the $ 73 million Philanthropic funding received from the University of Sydney. Meanwhile, the Architectural Firm Denton Corker Marshall has been selected to design the research facility.
