Individuals and businesses are cautioned that reselling COVID-19 tests for more than 20% of the original retail price might result in a five-year prison sentence or a $66,000 fine. The ACCC has contacted over 40 test suppliers, large retailers, and pharmacy chains across Australia, reminding them that they must back up representations to consumers regarding price increases. Keeping prices so high, according to the administration, is unethical.
