The universities in Australia have made the decision to use the traditional method of using pen and paper after students were caught using artificial intelligence tools to write essays. Although it is undoubtedly an arduous task for university management to change the overall spectrum of assignments.
Also the Australian academics association also raised concerns about the usage of AI-based chat GPT. As of now, the prestigious group of eight universities in Australia are currently conducting discussions around the way the assessment would be conducted.
However, the reports from the University of Sydney reflect that the latest academic policies are being developed at a rapid pace to accommodate the relevant changes that need to be incorporated while completing the projects. Also, the decision to switch to traditional tools is not limited to Australia Universities. Even New York public schools have banned the use of electronic devices. Therefore the rise of AI is expected to cause major challenges in future.
