A medical student from the University of Melbourne wins a national award for Rural health services.

Jasraaj Singh, a final year medical student from the University of Melbourne, has won the Rural Doctor Association of Australia (RDAA) medical student of the Year Award 2022. She was awarded at the Rural Medical Australia conference dinner, which was held in Canberra on Friday evening.

Moreover, this award is given annually to individuals who showcase a strong passion towards the field of rural medicine. As a student of Medical Sciences, she has taken all the relevant medical training in the field of rural medicine while working in the paediatrics ward at the Nambour Hospital, and thus it sparked her interest in becoming a medical professional. In the meantime, Ms Singh focuses on working in different activities based on rural medicine.

Meanwhile, it is the second consecutive year that a student from The University of Melbourne has won the Rural Doctor's Association Award. Last Year, Indira Barrow won the award.
